Re-marks, Resubmissions and Supplements
How to request a Remark
You can request a remark if you believe that the mark you received for an assessment exercise is wrong or unfair. You can only initiate a process of review once for a particular assessment exercise.
Resubmission of Assessment Exercises
Fail assessment exercises can be resubmitted if the Topic Coordinator has informed you that this provision applies. You cannot resubmit examinations, but you may be able to re-sit them.
Supplementary Assessment
You can be granted Supplementary Assessment on either medical/compassionate grounds or academic grounds. For further information, see below under 'Supplementary Assessment'.
Supplementary Assessment
Supplementary Assessment is a piece of assessment designed to give a student another chance at passing the topic. There are two types of supplementary assessments:
- Medical/ Compassionate, and
Supplementary Assessment may involve written or oral examinations, prepared papers or practical work or any combination of these. Supplementary assessments will not be granted if you have mistaken the time of an examination or the due date of an assignment or project unless the Examinations Board determines otherwise.
Academic Integrity & Dishonesty
Breaches of Requirements of Academic Integrity include: plagiarism, collusion, fabrication, falsification, double submission of work and misconduct in examinations.
Plagiarism: An attempt to pass off someone else's work as your own without acknowledging that you used their work.
Collusion: submitting work as if done individually when it has been done jointly with others.
Review of Student Progress
Students enrolled in courses at Flinders University are required to pass a certain amount of work every year. Two rules are used to determine your progress.
They are:
You must have attempted 36 units of study with a Grade Point Average of at least 1.33
You must meet any course-specific rule governing student progress outlined in volume 2 of the Flinders University Calendar (only the rules which apply to your course apply to you).
Grade Point Average: This is the average grade awarded to you by the University.
